Description of the Course Content

Festivals, Major Events and Live Music Concerts globally, entertain millions of audience members annually. History informs us that even with the best planning in place, crowd related injuries and sometimes fatalities occur during a live performance, which may have been preventable if a robust Showstop® Procedure had been in place.

‘All Ten deaths and injuries sustained at the 2021 Astroworld Festival could have been prevented”

The safe management of crowds is a legal requirement in many countries around the world but in addition to the legislative requirement, there are also moral, ethical and financial reasons why we should plan for the management of crowds under both normal and emergency conditions.

The Crowd Safety Showstop® Procedure is a critical safety process for those responsible for managing the safety of crowds. The Crowd Safety Showstop® Procedure aims to standardise Showstop® Procedure, and reduce the likelihood of major injuries or fatalities, to members of the audience, which may have otherwise been preventable.

The Professional Certificate in Showstop® Procedure course is primarily aimed at those professionals responsible for the safe management of crowds and others who wish to identify the key processes of a Showstop® Procedure, and by doing so, be better equipped, to plan, prepare, recognise and implement a robust Showstop® Procedure.

Equally, this course will better prepare Emergency Services and Local Authorities, to critically assess the suitability of the proposed event Showstop® Procedures, prior to an event license/permit being granted.
